Guide to repairing your credit
Good credit is critical. Banks won’t give you a loan if you have a bad credit score. Credit card companies will reject you and insurance companies may charge you a higher rate. If you have a low credit score, the utility company may require a security deposit before they’ll turn anything on. A low credit score could cost you that desired job.

On March 9, 2004, Senate Resolution 316 was passed designating April 2004 as “Financial Literacy Month.” Senator Daniel Akaka [HI] sponsored the bill, which resolved to raise public awareness about the importance of financial education in the United States and the serious consequences associated with a lack of understanding about personal finances.
The bill states “that the President issue a proclamation calling on the federal government, States, localities, schools, nonprofit organizations, businesses, other entities, and the people of the United States to observe the month with appropriate programs and activities.”
nominate A Financial Educator
The people who lead the coursework form the backbone of Financial Literacy education.
The NFEC’s CEO, Vince Shorb states, “Teachers are the single most important influence on student success. The qualifications of financial educators have a direct impact both on short-term student outcomes and on their long-term financial well-being.”
While taking the opportunity to recognize traditional educators, we also extend our thanks to volunteers, financial professionals, concerned citizens, and others who teach financial literacy. All these individuals are invaluable to the effort.
Financial Educators Day launched in 2014 and takes place on the last Friday of April each year.

On the fourth Thursday of every April, we observe National Take Your Child to Work Day.
This day was set aside for parents to take their children into the workplace to show them what the work world is all about. Established in 1993 by the non-profit Take Our Sons and Daughters to Work Foundation, this event is designed to expose children to various career options, foster workplace diversity, and help kids become future productive community members.
The National Financial Educators Council has prepared a guide for parents and employers to make Take Your Child to Work Day a success. The guide lists some of the goals and benefits of participating in this annual observation, suggests tips for organizing an interesting and engaging day of events and activities, and offers a sample letter for companies to send out to employees.
